[N] French accented letters are not correctly displayed

Report a bug

Since I installed the new version of onlyoffice (9.0.0.172), I have a problem displaying French accented letters in WORKSHEET. They are not displayed correctly in the cells (row/column), but they are displayed correctly in the upper area below the menu.
For bug reports, provide the steps to reproduce and if possible a minimal demo of the problem.
OS version: Windows 11
App version: 9.0.0.172
Downloaded from: ONLYOFFICE website

Hello @PJO25,
Does this issue occur with all spreadsheet files? Could you provide an example file that contains accented letters? ( à, â, Ê, è, Ú)

Hi Dmitri,

I am not able to send you this file 'Error “Sorry, new users can not upload attachments.”

I have the problem only in 1 file. The others with approximately the same data do not have the display problem

Regards
Philippe

Hello,
Since the transition to version 9.0 of Onlyoffice, I encounter the same problem, the text in my spreadsheet table is systematically modified, the vowels with accent are replaced by accentuated capital letters or by signs.
What solution do you offer to remedy that and find characters in accordance with French writing.
Thank you in advance. Sincerely.

Christian Conquet

@PJO25 Now you should be able to upload the file, please provide it so that we can analyze it

@Krist.64
Hello, could you please also provide an example file in which the issue occurs?

Hello, I make an attempt to reach you a file that includes errors, I have selected a few so that they are easy to spot. Sorry but as a new user I am not allowed to reach a document. I send it to you via my personal messaging. Sincerely

Hi Dmitrii,

Hi,

There is a similar bug on Portuguese after install the new OnlyOffice version.
But it only happens in already formatted XLSX, with Arial font or if I copy (Ctrl+c / Ctrl+v) the form to a new XLSX.

If I use liberation fonts, Arial black, Arimo or any other font work without issues.

And only half of the document is broken, the other half breaks if I press “F2” (to edit a broken cell) and press enter.

New tests:
I was trying while write this comment, and some characters only break/work if I use/don’t use bold or other lines on the same cell (alt+enter) with Arial.
Maybe this is the reason the old XLSX documents are broking.

I’m not able to send here this file, because: ‘Error “Sorry, new users can not upload attachments.”’

Sorry, I’m not too good at English.

@PJO25 Strangely, the issue does not reproduce either on Desktop Editors ver. 9.0 on Windows 11 or on Docs 9.0.1

@lsw Now you should be able to upload attachments

Hi Dmitrii,
When I change for another fonts (Calibri, Comic) it is displayed correctly.

I forgot to share these videos, sorry.

It is breaking with bold

It is breaking with “alt”+“enter”

We are currently analysing the issue, please wait

Hi all,

In some other files, the problem does not appear. Even if the font used is Arial

At the moment, we have not been able to reproduce the issue on our side. Please send another video demonstrating the issue - starting from launching the Desktop Editor and recorded in full screen.
Are you opening the document from the cloud?
What are the system scaling (zoom) settings on the machine where the issue occurs?

The system scaling is 100%
(My system is in Portuguese Brazil)

I can’t send longer videos on forum, and the native video recorder doesn’t work on Windows explore or in Desktop page from Windows.

I open the video from a local cloud and from windows documents folder. In both, it’s broking the file.

When I use “Alt”+“Enter” on bolded or unformatted, it breaks a lot of cells… However, doesn’t break all cells bolded/unformatted…

And when I remove “Alt” + “Enter” from all cells, it works pretty good If I update the cells.

We are continuing the analysis, thank you

Sorry for the delayed response, we haven’t been able to reproduce the issue by retracing the steps shown in the screen recordings, using the file you provided. Therefore, we need more specific details, as each one could potentially contribute to the issue.
What is the zoom level set in the Desktop Editors? Does the issue also occur when you follow the same steps without detaching the Spreadsheet tab? Is it possible to provide a screen recording with a more detailed scenario from start to finish?
