Zotero plugin is not working as it should

Do you want to: Report a bug
For bug reports, provide the steps to reproduce and if possible a minimal demo of the problem:

  • Go to “Extensiones” tab on OnlyOffice
  • Click on Zotero plugin
  • Type the reference you want to find in the search box
  • Select it and click on “Insert bibliography”
    Document Server version: 9.0.4.50
    Additional information: The problem is that when you click on insert bibliography, regardless of whether you have selected a single source, it inserts the entire database in one block in a single entry. The same thing happens when, instead of inserting a bibliography, you want to insert a citation.

Hello @genrigp

Can you record a video example of this behavior? I was unable to reproduce it by simply selecting necessary items for the bibliography.

Also, please let me know version of Desktop Editors/Document Server that is being used and version of Zotero plugin (Plugins tab > Plugin Manger > Zotero > Info & Support).

How can I upload a video? The upload tool doesn’t allow me to do that. By the way, my Desktop version of OnlyOffice is 9.0.4.50.

You can upload the video to any cloud storage and share a link to it. Once you reach Trust Level 1 in this community, you will be able to upload attachments.

Thank you. Please check the version of Zotero in Plugins tab > Plugin Manager > Zotero > Info & Support and let me know.

The Zotero version is 1.0.4

Thank you. Possibly you are expecting Zotero plugin to work differently, but it works as:

  1. Insert Citation button creates a citation and places it right at the cursor position;
  2. Cancel select button simply remove all currently selected sources for citation;
  3. Insert Bibliography button creates a list of references for all already added citations in a specific style;
  4. Refresh and Synchronize buttons are used to update date from your account.

You see, there is no need to insert bibliography each time a citation is added. Basically, plugin already knows which references were taken, once you cite anything, it updates the list automatically. If you use Insert Bibliography button several times, it will indeed create several lists, which is expected.

In the attached video, very last part exactly describes it: you have added new citation, checked the reference link and it is in the list. As simple as that.

If I misunderstand anything in your description, please elaborate.
