Operating system: Debian 13 64-bit
Desktop environment: GNOME / Wayland
Application: ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors 10
Problem
The Find/Search function (Ctrl+F) becomes extremely slow when working with large XLSX spreadsheets.
In my tests, searching for a word can take more than 20 seconds before the results are displayed.
I originally reported this issue to ONLYOFFICE Support under ticket #124397.
Support recommended testing the problem again with the newer version of ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors.
I have now tested ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors 10, and unfortunately the problem still persists.
Steps to reproduce
- Open a large XLSX spreadsheet.
- Press Ctrl+F.
- Search for a word that occurs many times in the workbook.
- Observe the time required for the search results to appear.
Actual result
The search may take more than 20 seconds.
Expected result
Search results should normally appear within a few seconds, even in relatively large XLSX workbooks.
Reproducible test file
I have prepared an XLSX test workbook specifically for reproducing this issue. It contains large amounts of spreadsheet data and repeated search terms.
Suggested search terms:
ONLYOFFICE_SEARCH_TEST
PERFORMANCE_SEARCH
The same problem is reproducible in ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors 10.
I would appreciate it if the development team could reproduce the issue and, if confirmed, provide an internal bug/tracking number.
It would also be useful to know whether search performance optimization is planned for an upcoming Desktop Editors 10.x release.
