Hi everyone,
I’m setting up a lightweight workflow on macOS using ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors alongside capcut for mac and wanted to see if this approach is practical.
Basic idea:
-
Write scripts and outlines in ONLYOFFICE
-
Export as DOCX/PDF for reference
-
Use them as a guide while editing videos in CapCut
-
Keep documents updated separately from video edits
The goal is just to keep planning and editing loosely connected without adding heavy project management tools.
Has anyone tried a similar setup, and does it scale well for larger projects?
and since its a long term project so I need some accuracy here so that I could avoid wasting some time linking capcut for mac and onlyoffice.
Hello @alishawinson
Can you elaborate on the case you would like to run? It is not clear what kind of obstacles you think you can get into by running Desktop Editors and CapCut, because there are completely different apps for different purposes.
I may assume that the whole approach depends on how familiar you are with macOS and its capabilities. For instance, setting up two desktops for each app seems to be quite practical in terms of “between app” navigation with three fingers swipe to change the desktops. With this you can easily switch between the apps to work in them. In Desktop Editors you will always have a file (either open from Finder or directly from the apps’ home page) to edit the scripts for a specific project in CapCut and in CapCut you will be able to apply the edits according to the script.
In general, creating a folder for a single project with the script and all sources for the video is a good idea for keeping all necessary items in a single place. From that folder you can just open the script and the CapCut project, place apps in their own desktops for easier navigation and just do the edits.
If I misunderstand the scenario or you have any issues with finding a good spot for Desktop Editors, please let me know.
You understand it correct and yeah you provided me with better options. lemme run into it if I see any difficulty will contact here. Thanks.
