Stop silently replacing the field separator in CSV

Opening a csv with ; as seperator should save the same format. \

Currently after changes are made OO save the csv silently replaces the ; with a ,

Please clarify the situation. I’ve downloaded random csv file and when I opened it for the first time, the editor prompted me to select a separator.

Please clarify if I misunderstood the scenario.

  1. open a csv file. (choosing a separator)
  2. change the file
  3. save the file

The old file is overwritten with a new file with a different separator.

I expect OO to remember the separator and save the file with the same separator it was opened with.

We have added this scenario to internal tracksystem (bug number 67072), we have started working on it.
