Report a Bug - Edit Not Available

Report a bug: Doc Edit No Longer Available except via Mobile App
Steps: Open doc (e.g. a TXT file) from My Documents and there is no EDIT icon. This happens in Browser and with the Desktop app.
Document Server version:
Type of installation of the Document Server (docker, deb/rpm, exe, please point us to the installation guide that you used as well):
OS: Windows 11
Browser version: Brave 141.1.83.120 installed 10/26/2025
Configuration: Just downloaded desktop app today. Standard install.
Unable to upload a screenshot (new user).

We need to clarify a few things to understand your issue better.
When you open your file) (e.g. a TXT file as you’ve said), do you see options in the top right corner of the screen?
You should see modes like:

  1. Editing
  2. Viewing
  3. Reviewing
    If you see these options, try clicking on “Editing” mode. This will allow you to make changes to your document.
    We have tested opening TXT files on our side and everything works fine. To help us investigate your issue, could you also share a short video showing the problem with document editing?
