RANT: Never have i ever had that much hazzle creating a bug report as a new user!

Here I was, creating a bug report and trying to provide you as much information as possible
“Sorry, new users can not upload attachments.”
Ok wierd but I guess we need to keep the bots down.

At least i can attach some snippets of the issues.
“An error occurred: Sorry, new users can only put one embedded media item in a post.”

Oh well, guess youre no longer getting a good bug report from me.

I have a strong feeling that you are losing out on bug reports and other valueable suggestions, details and otherwise. Simply because its too much work to do a proper topic for you guys.

If it wasn’t for this being an issue i require a fix for, i would simply have Alt+F4ed out and never used your forum again and really just contemplated finding another alternative.

You created a rare moment for me where i honest to god started appreciating Jira for what it is, although i hate that with a passion as well :joy:

I have to give you big Kudos for making a strong alternative to M$ Office.
But at the same time. Dont make it harder for us to provide you with valueable feedback.

Hello @TJdata

I understand the frustration that you might’ve experienced after joining ONLYOFFICE community. To keep the community clean, certain options are indeed restricted to prevent spamming and encourage users to spend some time reading existing topics/posts before creating new topics, in case similar queries were discussed earlier, and to gain trust levels. In general, trust level of your account provides more possibilities overtime. You can check out following article to find out more about trust level system:

We totally appreciate your feedback in this regard, your patience and you willingness to make ONLYOFFICE better.

Hi @Constantine
While I do understand the steps that are needed to keep the community free of bots and spam.
A new user wont care about trust, scores and levels.

It also directly contradicts the bug report steps that you ask the users to provide when creating a topic on your forums.

While you do have a lot of options of doing proper tickets and reports. They are very developer-centric.(or paid)
You must know that the majority of users who will be experiencing issues with the programs and suite in general will be the average Jane and Joe.
You need to cater to those people, they are the ones who will bring you the most valuable feedback in the end.
But I honestly dont think they can be bothered doing that from what i experienced trying to make a simple bug report.

Please do yourself a favour and test this out from the perspective of a new user who wants to share feedback with you. E.g. Have your mother, your uncle, your gramps post feedback/Create a bug report. See how they will have to fight to help you guys improve the platform

Remember that for each hurdle along the way, theres a 50/50% chance that the user will simply just chose to leave again and not provide you with any feedback.

Its a loss for you, and a bad experience for the user.

Thats just my honest and sincere feedback to you. I really really want you guys to be the best there is. :muscle:

Thanks for listening to my TedTalk

Thank you very much for inspiring words and the feedback. Even though I agree with some points, the limitations are not that strict, and not knowing about rules does not disclaim responsibility from the user.

Information about attachments was asked in the forum rules though:
