Hi there, wanted to drop by and make a feedback on bags and some suggestions for the current version of the editors, precisely for the text editor (9.0.0.172 (x64 exe)).
I’ll try to thoroughly text-describe them, but please let me know if you will need a video representation and on which points. All of them are connected with the tables in the text editor.
Select a row in a table → column break : the result - text in the left cell or in the top left, if you select multiple rows gets deleted
Select text in a cell or multiple cells → Delete : text gets deleted, BUT the font changes to Arial_11 from whatever font and size was in the cell before
Select text in a single cell → Ctrl+B : font changes to bold as expected ; select 2+cells in one row or multiple rows → Ctrl+B : font also changes to bold BUT you can’t invert the change by pressing Ctrl+B again - it does not change the thickness of the font back to the normal
I don’t know whether it’s a bug or intended, but after table/column break, the font on the new line below the table changes back to Arial_11 instead of what it was like in the table or in the text ahead.
I’ll provide video representation on the bugs if you’d need a better illustration, just get back to me with which points exactly need to be presented in the vid. I use a ultra-shady online screen tracker, so if there’s no need and I can describe things via text, I’d rather go with this first
Hello @ohmin
I’ve tried to reproduce p.2-3, however without luck. As for p.1,4 more detailed description is needed. If it’s possible, please record a video file with your test and provide a test file.
One more thing. These issues seem strange, so I would recommend total app reinstallation with cache data clearing before new tests:
I’m on the weekend in another city, can only watch Youtube from my phone, can’t upload anything. Internet speed here is heavily limited, so I’ll use a different video hosting resource this time, please let me know if you can access and see the video. If there will be issues, I’ll make an account on different hosting source you;ll recommend then. Here’s the link: https://go.screenpal.com/watch/cTiZIVnIoKO
Here are the time codes: 0:25 - 0:35 : I’m doing a table/column break and 3 things happen at the mean time:
text at the first cell of the selected interval gets deleted
font between 2 newly created tables sets to Arial_11 instead of the one that is in the table cells (Times New Roman_16 (TNR_16)
font in the cell in which text gets deleted is also resets back to Arial_11
0:45 - 0:57 : Trying out the table/column break at a wider cell range
1:05 - 1:40 : If you use Ctrl+B on the highlighted text in a cell, you can successfully perform this operation in both ways - to make the font bald and to undo the change. However, If you try to use Ctrl+B on a range of cells (2+), you can only do it once - to make it bald. The second and all the further attempts will not work and the highlighted font stays the same. To make it normal, I have to re-highlight it or use my mouse and the toolbar at the top of my screen.
1:45 - 2:10 : After the table/column break, the font is again resets back to Arial_11.
Please give me a feedback if any of these points need further testing/video examples, if the video is working, etc. Sorry for the late response, been busy with the studies and some personal affairs
Hello @ohmin
About the table breaks scenario and changed font, this isn’t a bug, but expected behavior. The text is not part of the table and takes on the document’s style. We checked MS for comparison, and it works the same way there.
However, we noticed another issue in the provided video and internal tests. Once table breaks are inserted the data from the very first cell under the break disappears. We have added it to internal tracksystem, and we have started working on it.
Thank you for the valuable data!
