We often share documents as nextCloud links (share or internal). These can be opened using OnlyOffice web editor. How do I open these in the OnlyOffice Desktop Editor?
Thanks,
Hey @gihandias, ![]()
Thanks for the question! I understand the issue — web links open in the browser editor, but you’d like them to launch in the desktop app.
Could you please clarify which OS you’re using with ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors (Windows, Linux, macOS)? I’ll check with the team.

Yes. I’d like to use the desktop app for editing, but I can’t open a link in it.
This is especially usefil when using private room, which is not supported on the web.

I’m currently using Windows.

Thanks for confirming — Windows, got it! I’ll pass your request to the team so we can explore adding support for opening Nextcloud share/internal links directly in Desktop Editors. We’ll look into it and keep you posted on any progress.
Appreciate your feedback!
Great. This is a feature request - not a bug - and is applicable to all desktop and mobile platforms.
