for multiple weeks now, I have been trying to get ONLYOFFICE to work on my computer, but every time I want to open it, it shows a blank window for a bit and then instantly closes.
In Windows’ Event Viewer, I get the following error under “Windows Logs/Application”:
Checking AppData, Local AppData, Program Files, Documents, User Folder, etc. for ONLYOFFICE-related Folders and deleting them
Trying the Windows Store version, the online installer, and the offline installer.
Trying different versions (9.3.1, 9.3.0, 9.2.0)
Launching with --disable-gpu
Setting ONLYOFICE to use my CPU instead of my graphics card in Nvidia’s Control Panel
Updating my graphics drivers
Nothing solved the issue. There is an issue open on GitHub already, but it doesn’t seem to be getting any attention unfortunately, which is why I’m also posting this here.
I understand the problem is quite unclear and frustrating. We’ve already seen a few similar cases, but unfortunately we still can’t reproduce it on our test setups (even with RTX cards and Windows 11 25H2).
I’ve passed your report (including the full event log, specs and steps tried) to the dev team for deeper analysis. I can’t promise a fix in your exact situation right now, but we’re definitely looking at it and will keep investigating.
If we need more info or specific tests from you (logs, etc.), I’ll reach out here. Since there are a lot of threads right now, please tag me with @Nikolas in any follow-up message or write me a private message if I don’t reply quickly — sometimes topics get buried and I miss them.
I’m personally interested in getting this sorted too, so please don’t leave any questions unanswered if I ask for more details. Thanks for your patience — we’ll keep working on it!
Launch methods tested: Start menu, direct path C:\Program Files\ONLYOFFICE\DesktopEditors\DesktopEditors.exe,
desktop shortcut, auto-launch after install
GPU acceleration: both enabled and disabled (--disable-gpu)
Result: The application launches correctly — no blank window, no crash, and the Event Viewer shows no trace of the graphics.dll error you described.
Your NVIDIA driver version 591.86 WHQL was released on January 27, 2026. We very much doubt the issue lies in the driver itself, but just to rule it out completely: are you still seeing the crash on the driver (581.42)?
Also — very important question:
Would you be willing to temporarily replace the current (unsigned) graphics.dll with a debug/log-enhanced version from our developers? It would give us much more detailed crash logs and help pinpoint the root cause faster.
If not, no problem — could you instead send us the contents (file list or screenshots) of these two folders via private message?
I’ve gone ahead and installed the drivers you mentioned and done a fresh reinstall of ONLYOFICE 9.3.1. The problem still persists.
I wanted to send you a list of the contents of the directories you mentioned, but it seems I don’t have permissions to send you a PM on here. Could you send me a PM - maybe I can reply to that then?
Also, feel free to send over the dll as well then! Just tell me what you need me to do after replacing it.
