When I click on an OnlyOffice URL that I have placed in a note or online document (which is not an OnlyOffice document, e.g. a Google Doc), it opens the DocSpace overview rather than the OnlyOffice document.
It makes no difference whether I use the link from the browser’s address bar or the sharing context menu. The link only works if I paste it directly into the address bar.
Interestingly, the link opens my document if I use it inside a locally stored text document (e.g. LibreOffice). (Ctrl+left mouse button)
So this is not about sharing files, but OnlyOffice files that I have created and would like to access via links inside non-OnlyOffice documents.
I only use the web version of DocSpace. This is what the ‘About’ page shows me:
Document management: ONLYOFFICE DocSpace v.3.2.1
Online editors: ONLYOFFICE Docs v.9.0.4.50
Hey @gti3s6gj0,
Thanks for reporting this issue with ONLYOFFICE DocSpace links.
To help us reproduce and investigate this, could you share:
- A short video showing the issue (e.g., clicking the link in a Google Doc, the DocSpace overview opening, and the expected document)? Upload it to Google Drive/kDrive and share the link.
- Or a step-by-step guide (e.g., exact link format used, how you insert it, the platform where it fails, and what you see in the browser).
We’ll dive into this and get back to you with updates. Thanks for the detailed report — it’s super helpful!
Hey @gti3s6gj0,
Thanks for sharing the link — it’s a great help! I tested it on my Windows 11 system with Firefox using https://app.notesnook.com/notes and couldn’t reproduce the issue where the DocSpace overview opens instead of the document.
Possible issues with Firefox on Linux Mint could include:
- Firefox Settings: Check these
about:config parameters:
javascript.enabled (should be true for scripts to work)
network.http.sendRefererHeader (should be 2 to send referer headers)
privacy.resistFingerprinting (should be false to avoid blocking necessary data)
network.cookie.cookieBehavior (?)
- Extensions: Tools like uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger could interfere with redirects or JavaScript used by Notesnook or ONLYOFFICE.
- Profile/Browser Version: A corrupted Firefox profile or outdated version might be the culprit.
Does this issue repeat in Google Chrome? Trying another browser might help isolate the problem. Let me know!
The values are as stated in your post.
Unfortunately I get the same behaviour with Chrome.
I’m using Linux Mint as OS.
Here are some screenshots of my Firefox settings.

Hey @gti3s6gj0,
Thanks for the update and screenshots! Since the issue persists in both Firefox and Chrome on Linux Mint, I’m suspecting it might be related to browser extensions. Could you try testing the link in a freshly installed browser (like a new Firefox or Chrome instance without any extensions)?
This would help us rule out interference from plugins like ad blockers or privacy tools.
Let me know how it goes or if you run into any issues!
Both browsers were freshly installed without any extension. I also tested it in incognito mode.
Hello @gti3s6gj0
We have recently updated DocSpace Cloud to version 3.5. Please check if the same behavior occurs.
Unfortunately, this didn’t solve the problem. I was also able to reproduce the issue on Windows and in different browsers.
Could you give me a short step-by-step guide on how to insert a link into eg. a Google Keep note that, when clicked, opens the document? Can I simply copy the URL from the browser taskbar, or do I need to use the sharing context menu?
Do you use any browser extensions in your tests? I have tested the behavior in Google Keep, GDrive, even in separate desktop note apps and everything works as expected.
Hi Constantine, I assumed that using Incognito Mode would prevent the browser from loading extensions. However, I will give it another try. Thank you!

It is not working on my mobile device either. What I noticed was that Opera browser added an URL segment (&without_redirect=true) but this didn’t change the behavior of OnlyOffice (I also tried “false”)
