The idea of integrating Languagetool as plugin is good. Yet, having it as real online spelling tool would be a great benefit for both - the web office and for the desktop editors. While writing this suggestion in the text box, LanguageTool proofreads what I am writing. £
The integration would be really great, as Languagetool replaced the spell check in MS365 I used before and also in Pages in macOS. In addition, beside spell checking, this tool helps in rephrasing sentences. Great for reports etc.
A combination of ONLYOFFICE and LanguageTool, also in the community edition, would be a big hit.
Can you provide more information on that for the reference? If I understand correctly, in named processors Languagetool works differently and you suggest implementing similar functionality.
The plugins are activated in the LanguageTool settings. If the macOS desktop App is installed, one can activate/deactivate the corresponding plugin, see attached screenshot.
So it is not a plugin for an app exactly, but a stand-alone desktop application. In that case it seems that the vendor of LanguageTool Desktop adds support for various application to work with. I’m afraid we cannot implement a support for a desktop app that is maintained by another team.
