Hello @hisham

Can you provide exact steps to reproduce this issue or a sample file that produces described behavior for analysis?

By the way, what version of Document Server is being used in this scenario?

Version information

9.0.4-50

Reproduction Steps

  1. open word / PDF
  2. write any Arabic word (“نقطة”)
  3. export to pdf
  4. open the exported PDF
  5. search for text (“نقطة”) → not result
  6. copy the text from PDF content it will appears differently , and you can find the result

Thank you for the scenario. I followed the steps, but the result is not what you are describing.

Searching of copied text (both from original DOCX and resulting PDF) shows the query:

I pasted it back to the DOCX and it works as expected. See the screenshot, above line is original text inserted before saving as PDF and second line is inserted from resulting PDF:

Am I missing something? Can you record a video demo for this scenario?

Dear Ali ,
thanks for your response , the issue appears after exporting to PDF , not inside the editor .

Sorry, I seem to be misunderstanding. In the test above I saved DOCX with provided arabic text as PDF, then opened the PDF and copied the value. Searching for that value in both files (original DOCX and resulting PDF) shows the query.

What do you mean by “not inside the editor”?

while open the PDF , don’t copy the value from the PDF , instead , you may copy from the source or from here “نقطة” , it will results nothing found .

if you copy from PDF it will not show “نقطة” , it will show different .
new (11) (1).pdf (19.5 KB)

Indeed, in the attached file I cannot find the same text. However, here is the demo, which shows all provided steps, where I can’t reproduce the same issue:

Did I misunderstand the scenario?

NB: I used ONLYOFFICE Docs for a faster and easier recording of the scenario. The core of editors is the same, there is no difference in tests between Desktop Editors and Docs.

Dear Constantine ,
i tried the same steps you did and it is working find , but while typing the word itself into word directly it is not working .
