I have installed only office from playstore on android Samsung S21 and one plus tablet. The app does not appear in the app drawer on either device and the only way to run it is by opening in play store. It shows as Version 9.2.2, build 683, SDK 9.2.1.43
Hi @petercol
Thank you for the details.
To investigate this properly, we’ll need a bit more information from both devices:
- The exact OS versions on each device
- Two short videos (one per device) showing the exact steps you take: installing the app → confirming that the ONLYOFFICE icon is missing in the app drawer → launching the app using the “Open” button in Google Play.
Hi, I have the same issue:
- Device XIAOMI 13ULTRA global edition
- O.S. YperOS 3.0.2.0
as new user I can’t upload video, so it’s linked here:
Regards.

Hi, @giampa64
Thank you for the video!
From what we can see in your recording, the app is actually installed and present on the device — it just appears in the app list under the name “Documents”, while in Google Play it’s listed as “ONLYOFFICE Documents”.
Please try searching for “Documents” in the app drawer (or scrolling to “D”) and launch it from there.
Thank you as well for pointing this out — we agree the naming difference can be confusing, and we’ve forwarded this as a suggestion to improve the app naming/searchability.
@petercol If this doesn’t match your scenario (or you’re experiencing a different issue), please still send us a short screen recording showing the exact steps and the result — we’ll check it and advise accordingly.
Thank you! Documents is the magic word!
Cheers.
Yep, that did it. Why didn’t they name it OnlyOffice instead of Documents?? Can I rename the name on my phone?
Good to hear that “Documents” worked for you.
@barbarainmemphis, regarding your questions:
The current name and label come from the fact that Documents is actually a module of ONLYOFFICE Workspace, and on Android, an app can have only one label, which is used both for the launcher icon and for search in the app drawer.
Because of this technical limitation, we unfortunately cannot add an additional searchable name like “ONLYOFFICE” alongside “Documents” at the moment.
However, you can still make access a bit easier by:
- Adding the Documents icon to your home screen.
- Using a custom launcher that allows you to rename shortcuts on the home screen, if you want it to appear as “ONLYOFFICE” there.
We understand that this can be confusing, and we have shared your feedback with the team for future consideration. However, at the moment, there is no technical way to implement an additional label or search name.
