Feature Request – Rectangle/Lasso selection for multiple blocks in PDF Editor

Hi ONLYOFFICE team and community,

I’ve been using the PDF Editor, and I’m really impressed by how far it has come, especially with the latest improvements in recent versions.

However, I’m missing one feature that would significantly improve my workflow : the ability to select multiple blocks at once by drawing a selection rectangle (also known as a “rubber band” or “lasso” selection), just like in most vector editing tools.

Currently, the only way to select multiple elements is to Ctrl+click each block one by one, which becomes very time-consuming when working with complex PDF layouts.

What I’d like to see :

  • Click and drag on an empty area to draw a selection rectangle
  • All blocks/objects within that rectangle get selected automatically
  • Then be able to move or edit them all at once

This is a pretty standard feature in tools like Inkscape, Adobe Acrobat, Affinity Publisher, etc.

I think this would be a great addition to the PDF Editor and would make it much more competitive for layout editing tasks.

Thanks for the great suggestion and for the clear description — a rectangle/lasso selection tool in the PDF Editor would definitely make layout editing much faster and more intuitive (especially on complex pages).
