Downloading a doc as .doc and not as .docx

Is there a way do download (or, maybe set OnlyOffice to use) .doc files and not .docx?

The files I create need to be delivered to another app that have problems with the .docx format

Unfortunately, old legacy formats such as DOC, XLS and PPT are deprecated by now by its publisher (yet not discontinued). Document Server natively works with OOXML file formats (DOCX, XLSX, PPTX), which are successors of the legacy formats.

Document Server, when opening a DOC file, converts it to a DOCX, but reverse conversion can cause serious inconsistencies between the files, because many modern features are simply not supported by the legacy formats, thus there is no way to save the edited file as a DOC.
