I found mysell in a deadlock situation where an obsolete file is still indicated as “under modification” by a user (who connected sometimes ago, but has not closed his session). I cannot identify who this user is. I would like to delete this file. It is not possible as the file is still under a “modification process”.
Thus I would appreciate that the right would be granted to the DocSpace owner for deleting a file, even if it is currently under modification by another user.
Hello @dpierre
Indeed, you cannot delete a file that is being edited. This “lock” was implemented to prevent data loss.
As I can see, the category is set to DocSpace Cloud – are you indeed using DocSpace Cloud? If you have an on-premise installation, please let me know its version.
Problem taken into account by the development team.
This is the mail I received from them :
We have added your request to internal tracksystem and we have started working on it.
We have found a bug in the scenario of enabling Session Lifetime, and we are working to resolve it. Once it is fixed, users will be forcefully disconnected from editing sessions when this parameter is enabled.
Thank you for pointing us to this situation.
I use DocSpace cloud. Not an on-premise installation.
Thank you for the information. I have contacted colleagues from support and they confirmed that the query is being processed. Please await an update from them.
Hi,
the problem has been solved. A fix has been deployed. Today, I was able to delete the file still indicated as “under modification” by a user (who connected sometimes ago, but has not closed his session).
Thanks to the team who fixed the problem, and for their very quick answer.
I was informed that the bug is not solved yet and you have already contacted my colleagues from support in this regard. Please stay tuned for the update.
