Corrupted Equation Symbols (italic, bold)

Hey there,
I found a bug in the implementation of the equations in only office presentations.

I cannot change the font style of the equation symbol from bold to non-bold, italitc to non-italic and vice versa. Please also check for the sub and superscripts.

This is important in math and engineering.

System info: Windows 11, Community-Version 9.2.1.43 (x64 exe)

Thanks!!

p.s.:

  • please also support matrices larger than 3x3 (goes beond MS capabilities)
  • please support the full list of mathematical symbols as MS office

Hi!
Thanks a lot for your message and for pointing this out.

Regarding the issue with changing the equation symbol font style (bold non-bold, italic non-italic) as well as subscripts/superscripts: we’ll investigate it on our side and will get back to you once we have any updates.

As for matrices: you can make a matrix larger than 3×3 by inserting additional rows/columns. To do this, click inside the matrix (on any placeholder), right-click → Insert → choose Row Above / Row Below / Column Left / Column Right.

About supporting the full list of mathematical symbols (similar to MS Office): thank you for the suggestion — we’ll register it as a feature request and will also come back with an update on this.

Hi!

About changing the font style for equation symbols (bold/non-bold, italic/non-italic, including sub/superscripts): our QA team reviewed the behavior, and at the moment it looks like a limitation of the current equation editor logic, so we registered it as an improvement request for further investigation and possible alternative solutions.

Regarding “support the full list of mathematical symbols as in MS Office”: thank you — we’ve also recorded this as a feature suggestion.
We’ll update this thread as soon as we have any news.
