Hello,
I’m new on OnlyOffice that I use to avoid Google Docs or MS Office. But on Android I have a problem with the text input experience.
I’m not sure if it’s a bug or a missing functions in OnlyOffice.
ONLYOFFICE Mobile: Documents

Device: Pixel 9a
OS version: Android 16
App version: 9.1.0 build 663
Mode: Connect to Cloud
Additional information:
When I edit documents with OnlyOffice on Android, a lot of basic keyboard functions dont’ work.
I use the Google Keyboard, which includes swipe functions to write or move in the text. These functions works on most application but not in OnlyOffice.
Exemple :
when I swipe on the keyboard to write words, the keyboard doesn’t show the suggestions area, like in other applications. So impossible to select the good word
in swipe typing, space between words are not automatically added. So the swipe typing is very ineffective
The Google keyboard allows you to move around in the text by sliding your finger across the space bar. But it isn’t possible on OnlyOffice.
All these little problems make using OnlyOffice on Android rather unpleasant.
Is it possible to have a solution ?
Thanks for the detailed report — yes, we’ve seen similar feedback about Gboard swipe typing and space-bar cursor movement not working properly in the Android app.
Could you please record a short screen video showing exactly what happens (or doesn’t happen) when you try these actions in ONLYOFFICE?
It would really help us confirm and push the fix faster.
Upload it anywhere (ONLYOFFICE DocSpace, Google Drive, etc.) and drop the link here.
Appreciate your help!
About text selection.
Text selection from text editor layout buttons freeze app and close document. But if push shift b on text editor layout and select text from tap of screen, selecting correct. App not freeze and document not closed. Video demonstrates this.

Thanks a lot for the videos — they’re super helpful! Yes, we do have some issues with input on certain keyboards (Gboard swipe, space-bar cursor movement). I’ve added your comments and observations to the suggestion.
We’re doing everything we can to get this working properly. Sorry that some features aren’t fully supported yet!
