I would like a feature in both the desktop and mobile versions that automatically changes the theme based on the system settings.
Hello @genrigp
Both apps detect used theme by default, unless manually changed.
Well, unless I change the theme on the view tab it doesn’t change it. Anyway I can’t find the option for that automatic feature.
Please share more context. Do you mean that you are switching the theme of the OS and then restarting Desktop Editors? Can you check which theme is set in settings? Settings of Desktop Editors are available from the main screen of the app.
No, the system switches the theme automatically, but Desktop Editors does not. I have to do it manually in the View tab, under the Interface Theme option. In the Desktop Editors settings, I don’t see any option to automate this change.
Interface theme setting has “same as system” option for that.
This is a video where I show you the options I see for that and there’s not the one for that.
Thanks for the video. May I know installation type of Desktop Editors? For instance, flatpak, snap, DEB/RPM packages, EXE/MSI, etc.
I remember I downloaded it from the official web of OnlyOffice via DEB package.
Sorry, I realized it’s flatpak
Can you install Desktop Editors with packages?
I tried downloading the DEB package from the official website but it always has an error at almost the end of the downloading, even from Brave or Firefox. Could you give me a direct download link? However, I tried with snap and the result is the same.
I was informed that, unfortunately, snap and flatpak do not have this setting, because they are containerized apps. There are plans to resolve this issue, but as of now there is no ETA.
As for the downloading issue – from where do you download it? Direct link is here, it is taken right from one official site: ONLYOFFICE desktop and mobile apps | ONLYOFFICE
Well, once again it doesn’t have an option for automatic theme switch, even when I took the DEB package from the main source, the official site. I made another screen rec but my answer was flagged as spam because of the link to it, so I don’t have any other way to show you.
It seems to be flagged by the system when you also have provided another link to the same domain in another topic. Can you try sending the video for case only?
Sorry, how can I do that? Anyway, the video I tried to send to you is similar to the previous videos I sent before because it shows the same.
I was informed that currently theme detection works incorrectly, thus “Same as system” is disabled for now. Sorry for the inconvenience. We are working on this issue, I’ll inform you once any news comes up.
Ok, well, I’ll have to wait again for that and for another issue that I’ve reported before about the PDF view on Android. Anyway, thanks.
