Add the possibility to import .HEIC pictures

Hello
I see today that OO is not able to use .HEIC pictures (pictures coming from an iphone for instance).
Is it possible to add it ?
Thanks.

We have registered an enhancement suggestion to add possibility to insert images in HEIC format into the document. Thank you for your suggestion and interest.

Hi there,
as i saw that this conversation was from Mai 2024 i wondered whether there is already a schedule for adding the compatibility with .heic format.

I have installed OO 8.3.3 on my Mac and Drag&Drop of HEIC Images still doesn’t work into the Writing-App…

Thanks in Advance!
Sebastian

Good Morning folks,
i just tried Version 9.1.0 and .heic import into “documents” via drag & drop still doesn’t work … what do i do wrong?

I have to add that it works via “Insert” → “Image from file”, but this is far less convenient than adding the Images directly via drag & drop. Do i have to activate this somewhere?

Thx!

Hello
Tried it on Kubuntu today, v9.1.
It is very slow but it works.
The slowness might come from the fact that the picture I’m using for the test is big.
Sorry folck.

There is no setting for that, but this behavior may be a bug. Can you start a new topic specifically for the issue with drag-n-drop? Since this topic is dedicated to support of HEIC and it has been implemented, I’d like to close it as solved and move discussion of drag-n-drop issue to another topic.
