Add a way to migrate a "user profil" (ie dictionary at least)

Hello
When I moved from Windows to Linux, I made a copy of the “Dictionary” folder in order to be able to find back all the words I added to the dictionary.
With the help of an AI, I found a way to copy/paste these information in my new setup.
However, it is a bore and I’m not sure the way I did it is 100% reliable.
So I think it would be a good thing to add a way to easily migrate the user data.
Thanks

I also question myself regarding the preservation of my updates in the all.dic file when the next update of the editors will occur…

Hello @arcqus,

Thank you for your great suggestion about adding a way to migrate user data, like the dictionary, between systems! We appreciate your detailed feedback.

We currently have a suggestion in place to improve dictionary interactions, including more options for working with dictionaries. I’ll check with the team on this and get back to you with updates.

Regarding your concern about Desktop Editors updates, I believe the all.dic file should remain intact, but to be safe, I recommend keeping a backup of your current version to avoid any potential loss.

Thank you for your valuable contribution! I’ll follow up as soon as I have more information.

Hey @arcqus,

Thanks for your patience! We’ve added your request to our existing suggestion for expanding dictionary features, which now includes showing the dictionary path (similar to MS Office) to make migration easier. This should help with transferring user data between systems like Windows and Linux.

Unfortunately, I can’t provide a timeline for implementation yet, but I’ll keep you updated as soon as we have more info. In the meantime, your backup approach for the all.dic file is still the safest bet.

Appreciate your valuable input!
