Absent Dictionaries

BUG REPORT
I am a new user to OnlyOffice and have run into problems with absent dictionaries for spellcheck, which is non-functional as a result.

Downloaded install file from the OnlyOffice website
Don’t recall an install guide being available, and the process seemed straightforward.
Win 10.0.19045 Build 19045
OnlyOffice V9.0.3.29

OO was installed in the last week and it went fine.
But spellcheck doesn’t work, and some searching online revealed that the absence of dictionary files will cause this.
I checked the relevant folders on my install and there are no dictionary files present. Searching further online provided little information about why this would be, and the means to fix it was pulling files off github which didn’t look appealing to a basic user.

OO is looking like a great alternative to MS Office, and works well apart from this!

I have an update…I re-checked the installation file and noted it was the OnlineInstaller (which seemed Ok at the time, and is “Recommended”). But looking again at the OO website I see that there are other Windows installers.
So I removed the original installation and installed using the x64 installer.
The process seemed much as before, but this time there are many dictionaries installed in the folder structure.

However, the spellcheck still doesn’t work.

I am based in New Zealand. I note that the document language (click on the Globe icon bottom right) is set to English US. When I start typing the “English - US” on the dropdown next to the Globe icon changes to “English - New Zealand”.
Even if I click the dropdown and select "English - US " it changes back to “English - NZ” when I start typing.
I note there is no English NZ dictionary folder.
If I click the dropdown and select “English - Australia”, the same thing happens - as soon as I type it goes back to NZ. There is an Australian dictionary present in the folder structure.

What’s going on, and why can’t I get spellcheck to work?

Hello @andrewcp

I note there is no English NZ dictionary folder.

Indeed, we thought about the ability to add custom dictionaries, we have added your request to internal tracksystem, and we will update this thread once we have something to share.

However, this case is a little bit odd:

If I click the dropdown and select “English - Australia”, the same thing happens - as soon as I type it goes back to NZ. There is an Australian dictionary present in the folder structure.

Could you please record a video file with your actions and provide us with a test file? We will check it out.
