Word and Character Count for Selected Text

Hello OnlyOffice Team,

I would like to suggest an improvement to the Statistics feature in OnlyOffice. Currently, the statistics tool (showing pages, paragraphs, words, and characters) only provides information for the entire document. However, it would be extremely helpful to have statistics for a selected portion of text as well.

For example, when selecting a paragraph or a few sentences, the editor could display the number of words, characters, and paragraphs

in that selection — similar to how many other word processors handle it.

This feature would be very useful for writers, editors, translators, and students who often need to check the word count of specific sections rather than the entire file.

Thanks for the suggestion! This should be solved with the Word counter plugin — it shows word/character count for selected text (and the whole doc).

Hey @Nikolas, Thank you, it works. From a design perspective, why is this an additional plugin rather than a built-in feature? Also, do you know if there is a maximum number of plugins that should not be exceeded to avoid impacting performance?
