Style don't always apply to selected text in a text document

I don’t get what are the conditions to apply a style to text.
Here is my doc:

Depending on what I select, the style does not always apply:

To me, it is kind of a bug, but I might miss something.

We have checked the provided scenario, but it seems that the situation is related to the file itself. MS Word shows the same behavior as our editor with this file.
