Additional information: Regarding OnlyOffice with a pre-existing excel file. just updated to the new OnlyOffice version 9.3. My older OnlyOffice version worked great with this same document no problems at all. With Version 9.3 I am seeing a glitch in which all my previous comments no longer have the user name on the comments, but has various other numbers/letters (actual example: tc={24d7b50e-9995-d806-9b2-4f565f8d68fe} followed by the date/time. Each comment has a different user name number/letter code. I can edit each one to the correct user name, and save them again, but when I close the spreadsheet and then reopen it, the comments all revert back to the number/letters code and I have to edit all comments over again for numerous comments.
Is this a glitch in the new update to 9.3 for any others and what can I do to keep the “comments” correct user information “saved” so I do not have to keep repeating this each time I reopen the spreadsheet?
(I do like the new left side “comments” column; it is helpful for finding specific comments!)
Hi! Thanks for the detailed description.
If you’re using a self-hosted DocSpace installation, please update to 9.3.1 and re-check the same file (a fix for this behavior was delivered in the 9.3.1 maintenance update): CHANGELOG
If the issue persists after update or if you’re using ONLYOFFICE DocSpace Cloud, please attach a short video showing the full flow, so we can reproduce it on our side.
Hi Marix, Thank you so very much for replying!! The update to 9.3.1.8 works! When I add new comments, it will now include the author/user name’s name in new comments. I also was able to edit the existing comments and just by clicking OK, the name changes back to the correct original user name/author. When I save and close the document, and then re-open it, it now keeps the user name/author!
You are all amazing. Thanks so much!!!
Hi! Thank you for the update — I’m really happy to hear that upgrading to 9.3.1.8 resolved the issue and that the author names in comments are now saved correctly after reopening the file.
Thanks again for taking the time to test and confirm the fix. If anything else comes up, feel free to start a new thread and we’ll be glad to help!
