After replacing Windows 10 with Windows 11, sometimes desktop editors freezes when I try to open a file.
I use
OS: Windows 11 Pro 24H2
Desktop Editors: 9.0.4.50 (x64 exe)
It happened in two cases.
- double click a file on windows explorer.
- select new file on desktop editors home menu.
The freeze will go away if I end one of the editors_helper.exe (probably the one with the highest PID) in Task Manager details.
Hello @nishigaki
If you have a chance, please try reinstalling Desktop Editors with MSI installer for Windows 11:
Hello @Constantine
I’ll try it once I’ve finished testing the other issue.

Hello @Constantine
I had to reinstall the Desktop Editors for other testing, which delayed this test. I installed it with MSI and have been using it for about three weeks, but the freeze when opening has not occurred.

I’m glad to know. Please monitor the situation for little longer and let me know if it happens again.
Thanks @Constantine
I understand.
So installing via MSI is just a workaround, not a way to identify the cause.
I’ll Inform members to reinstall using MSI.
