Merging Empty Cells – MS Office vs Onlyoffice

MS Office 2024 and Onlyoffice Desktop Editors 8.2.2, “freshly installed”, all default settings.

I’m adding a new empty table in MS Word - when merging empty cells, the height of the new row doesn’t change.

I’m adding a new empty table in the “document” app in Onlyoffice - when merging empty cells, for some reason, line breaks (?) are added and the height of the new merged cell changes.

Is this normal ?

Can I “force” the Onlyoffice editor to behave like Winword when merging cells, i.e., not add unnecessary breaks for empty cells ?

I’m attaching two videos demonstrating the difference in results for the same actions (the same happens when merging cells through a macro).

Hello @iteh

We are checking described behavior. Please await for the feedback.

Unfortunately, this behavior is a bug, we’ve created a report. It’ll be fixed in one of the future releases of Desktop Editor.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hello !

There is no information regarding the timeline for correcting the behavior of the document editor when merging empty cells ?

In the latest version, 9.0.3.29, the behavior remains the same as before - when merging empty cells, the height of the new merged cell is incorrectly set, just as demonstrated in the video above :frowning:

Hello @iteh

I’m afraid there is no timeline. Sorry for the inconvenience.
