I am working with spreadsheets and would love to be able to create a hyperlink to a local folder and not just to a file.
Scenario:
I have a spreadsheet to keep track of my different projects.
Now I would like to click on a cell with a project name and have it open finder with the project location.

You can already do that by simply getting to the folder with your files after clicking on the folder icon in hyperlink settings window, selecting any file to generate a link and then removing the file name and the last slash to have a link to the folder.
Upon first opening you may be prompted to allow access to the storage, which is required to open a directory.
