I’m suffering up to 3 seconds latency when adding content to documents on my laptop.

To understand whether the delay is caused by the Desktop Editors app itself, a specific document, or your setup, please send us:

  • your ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors version;
  • your OS version;
  • your laptop CPU/RAM specs;
  • how Desktop Editors was installed on your machine (for example, via the official installer, Microsoft Store, Snap, Flatpak, AppImage, package repository, or another method).

Please also clarify whether the file is local or opened from a connected cloud, and whether the issue occurs with all documents or only with one specific file. If it happens only with one file, please attach that document.

Please update Desktop Editors to the latest available version and check whether the issue persists.

Also, please send us a short screen recording showing the delay. If the video is too large to upload to the forum, you can upload it to any cloud storage and share the link with us.

Based on the specifications you provided, a 3‑second delay when typing is not expected.

To investigate further, could you please:

  • Record a short video demonstrating the delay in a simple scenario, for example, when typing plain text in a new blank local DOCX file.
  • Confirm whether the delay appears immediately after opening the editor or only after some time of use.
  • Let us know whether you have any third-party tools that might affect graphics or input (for example, screen recorders with overlays, screen magnifiers, or custom mouse/pen/tablet software).

Please also clarify how exactly you open your documents:

  • Are you editing files stored locally on your laptop, or opening them from a connected cloud/storage service (ONLYOFFICE Docspace, Nextcloud, ownCloud, etc.)?
  • If you use a connected cloud, which one is it, and do you see the same delay when working only with local files?
