I am connected to my Docspace and testing with a collaboration room.

Did a test this morning and here my remarks:

  • Collaboration between Iphone and desktop app/Docspace only worked once. In fact after updating to 9.0.4. After trying to open other files, collaboration did not work.

  • Collaboration between android and Iphone, so between smartphone apps always worked. I opened some docx as xlsx files, the two users could collaborate on the same file.

  • On docx file, on the iphone app, the name of the other user was always displayed. On the android app the name was not displayed.

  • On xlsx file, no name displayed on the two apps.

  • I am also getting “connection lost” errors when opening files and nothing is displayed.

  • On Docspace I also have created a room which connects to my NAS via webdav. I can open the file, change something, and when closing, my changes are not saved. Not on Iphone, not on android. But this works on Desktop app.

To investigate the described issues further, we would like to clarify a few points:

  1. Are you connected to DocSpace Cloud?
    Please check the version of ONLYOFFICE Docs used on your DocSpace, Desktop, and Mobile apps — they should all be 9.0.4.

  2. Regarding the “connection lost” errors when opening files and nothing is displayed — this appears to be related to the known “connection lost: view mode activated” issue. We are working on fixing it, and I will notify you as soon as a new version is released or the problem is resolved.

  3. About the docx files: on the iPhone app the other user’s name is always displayed, but not on Android — do you mean this is a difference in how Android and iOS apps display active collaborators?

  4. About the xlsx files: when you say no name is displayed on both apps — do you mean collaboration is not possible, or only that the active collaborator’s name is not shown?

  5. Regarding the DocSpace room connected to your NAS via WebDAV where changes are not saved on iPhone or Android but work in Desktop — could you please send us a video demonstrating the issue (you can share it via an external file storage link)?

If it’s easier, you can also share videos showing all the problems you described. This will help us reproduce the sequence and find the cause faster.

Yes, I am connected to DocSpace Cloud. I am using the free package.
All apps are 9.0.4

Yes exactly. The Iphone app shows the name of the collaborator, but on the android phone the name is not shown. But you can see when the iphone user is typing.

  1. About the xlsx files: when you say no name is displayed on both apps — do you mean collaboration is not possible, or only that the active collaborator’s name is not shown?

Collaboration is possible, but you cannot see in which cell the collaborators are in. But when someone is typing you can see a light border around the cell. But no names displayed.

  1. Regarding the DocSpace room connected to your NAS via WebDAV where changes are not saved on iPhone or Android but work in Desktop — could you please send us a video demonstrating the issue (you can share it via an external file storage link)?

I tested with a new xlsx file, but it’s the same with the docx files

You see the file creation time at 10:57

I type something, and as you can see in the white box the text is not displayed

Now exiting the file with the icon in the upper left corner

The app is writing or seems to save the file. It’s 11:01 time.

After refreshing, the file has not been saved, the time is still 10:57.

And i have tested this in the collaboration room, but have the same issue with my nas connection.

We’ve been digging into these, and here’s what we’ve got so far:

On Saving Changes (DocSpace Room & NAS via WebDAV)

  • The “no input displayed in cells” (white text issue) is a known bug our devs are aware of, but unfortunately, no timeline for a fix yet. We’ll keep you posted.
  • Regarding saves not sticking: Does this happen generally in DocSpace rooms (e.g., with cloud-stored files), or only when connected to your NAS via WebDAV? If it’s NAS-specific, could you share temporary access (e.g., WebDAV credentials for testing)? We didn’t see save issues with kDrive WebDAV on our end, so this could be config-related.

On User Names in Collaboration

  • For the missing names (e.g., iPhone shows them, Android doesn’t; none in XLSX): On iOS, we also don’t see collaborators in the collaboration tab by default — is that what you’re noticing, or something else? A short video or additional screenshots showing the exact display difference would be gold for reproducing this.
