Thank you, we’re looking into it.
Dear @Stastein
We’re trying to reproduce the situation, but without luck so far. I’ll keep you posted.
Meanwhile, if you’re able to reproduce and record the situation, we would be grateful.
Hi Alexandre, I´ve been watching this lately, but also been very meticulous about saving my documents as I write - so no further incidents until this morning, when it happened again. This time it was to a document that I opened from a Dropbox folder an hour ago, after having edited it on another Mac yesterday (and closed it after editing, also yesterday). Today I kept it open for about an hour, made a couple of minor edits - and then it failed to save. In other words: Not consistent with the previous pattern. Both Macs run the same versions of macOS and OO.
Hello @Stastein
Can you share a link to the guide that you used to connect Dropbox to your macOS?
Do I understand correctly that at the time of failure the document was open only on one device?
Hello Constantine, that’s correct - only on one device. As for the way of connecting Dropbox: Difficult to tell, because I have had the Dropbox account in Finder for about as long as I’ve had a Mac - about 15 years
If you can find a guide by any chance, I’ll gladly run some tests.
Sorry, I was a bit too quick in my previous answer. What I did on my latest Mac was simply to install the Dropbox desktop app from their website, open it and log in to my old account.
Meanwhile, the document save problem has happened again exactly once. That was almost immediately after opening an OO text document from my local documents folder. I had just typed in a couple of sentences before trying to save. What I did was to copy those sentences, close the document without saving, reopening it from the same location, paste the sentences back in - and voila, I could save without further problems.
The problem seems to be solved with the lates update(s). No further incidents since my last posting here.
