Unfortunately, the suggestion to auto-extend formulas in formatted table columns is still logged (internal #57189), and I fully understand how useful it would be — especially for quick data entry.
Right now it remains on the “implement in the future” list. There aren’t enough requests yet to bump its priority, and other features are currently ranked higher. Sorry for the wait — I know it’s frustrating.
I’ll keep watching it and update you here if anything changes. Thanks for checking back in!
